Gimistory doesn’t stop at the beach. Through advance-registered school visits, our storytellers bring oral tradition straight into assemblies and classrooms – reaching nearly 2,000 + young students each year.

The Storycrafters, Jeri Burns and Barry Marshall

The Storycrafters, Jeri Burns and Barry Marshall, are an award-winning storytelling duo who have been performing together since 1991, blending traditional tales, music, humour, and cultural traditions in dynamic performances across the U.S., Caribbean, and beyond.

Ken Corsbie

Ken Corsbie was an iconic Guyanese-Caribbean storyteller, actor, director and cultural ambassador whose dynamic performances, humour and mastery of Caribbean folklore made him a pioneering figure in regional storytelling and a beloved veteran of Gimistory from its inception.

Dr. Amina Blackwood Meeks

Dr. Amina Blackwood Meeks is an internationally acclaimed Jamaican storyteller, writer, actress, educator, and custodian of Caribbean oral traditions, and the founder of Ntukuma, The Storytelling Foundation of Jamaica.

Mona Lisa Meade

Host

Mona Lisa is a celebrated advocate for Caymanian Heritage & Culture. She received a Heritage Cross Award in 2011 for her work in the arts. As a TV producer and former events manager, news presenter, singer and beauty queen, she is no stranger to the stage. She continues to be a dedicated supporter of CNCF and its many projects and initiatives.

Host

Xosia McGregor is a Caribbean singer and radio personality with a deep passion for culture, community, and celebrating local creative talent.

Rita Powell

Head of Education Research and Grants

Rita Powell is the Cayman National Cultural Foundation’s Head of Education, Grants and Research, supporting arts education, professional development, research, and opportunities for Cayman’s creative community.

Nicole Durrant

Education Officer

Nicole Durrant is an Education and Research Officer at the Cayman National Cultural Foundation, supporting the Foundation’s work in arts education, research, and cultural development.
